چکیده
Abstract The Regional Atmospheric Modelling System (RAMS) driven by data from the CMIP5 Earth Model HadGEM2‐ES was used to simulate daily precipitation over tropical Americas for both current and future climate, including distinct scenarios (representative concentration pathways 4.5 8.5) different time horizons (short‐term, mid‐term long‐term changes). major objective evaluate possible changes in extreme events, with emphasis on intensity of events duration wet dry spells. According RAMS, longer spells are expected most regions future, indications Northeast Brazil, Caribbean, Northern Amazon, shorter Central America Amazon. With exception there is a general tendency towards increased frequency intense Americas.

Precipitation Extremes Under Climate Change
The response of precipitation extremes to climate change is considered using results from theory, modeling, and observations, with a focus on the physical factors that control the response. Observations and simulations with climate models show that precipitation extremes intensify in response to a warming climate. However, the sensitivity of precipitation extremes to warming remains uncertain w...
متن کاملSensitivity of tropical precipitation extremes to climate change
Precipitation extremes increase in intensity over many regions of the globe in simulations of a warming climate1–3. The rate of increase of precipitation extremes in the extratropics is consistent across global climate models, but the rate of increase in the tropics varies widely, depending on the model used3. The behaviour of tropical precipitation can, however, be constrained by observations ...
متن کاملUncertainty Investigation of Precipitation and Temperature Scenarios for the Sira Basin under Climate Change Impact
Results of assessment of the future climate change impacts is associated with some uncertainties. Considering the range of uncertainties increases reliability of the results. In this study, climate change impacts on daily precipitation, maximum and minimum temperature of Sira basin are assessed using LARS-WG model, for 2036-65 period. Accordingly, uncertainty of new emissions scenarios (RCP2.6،...
متن کاملPrediction of Climate Change in Western of Iran using Downscaling of HadCM3 Model under Different Scenarios
Abstract Considering that water resources are at risk from climate change, the study of temperature and precipitation changes in the coming years can lead to droughts such as droughts, sudden floods, high evaporation and environmental degradation. To this end, global climate models (GCMs) are designed to assess climate change. The outputs of these models have low spatial accuracy. In order ...
متن کاملClimate change scenarios generated by using GCM outputs and statistical downscaling in an arid region
Two statistical downscaling models, the non-homogeneous hidden Markov model (NHMM) and the Statistical Down–Scaling Model (SDSM) were used to generate future scenarios of both mean and extremes in the Tarim River basin, which were based on nine combined scenarios including three general circulation models (GCMs) (CSIRO30, ECHAM5,and GFDL21) predictor sets and three special report on emission sce...
